Parents and School Partnership
We strongly believe in developing a close partnership between home and school. We know that children will be happier and more secure if they see parents and teachers working together. The coordinator for parental partnership in the school is Kim Slater. Kim organises and runs activities and courses for parents/carers, including Family Learning. She can also give you information about the school or point you in the right direction for courses or contacts. She can be contacted on 07950 334111 or at kim.slater@highgate-pri.haringey.sch.uk.
Help from parents is welcome in many areas of school life. Some parents offer regular time in the classroom, while others prefer to help out occasionally, for special events or trips, gardening or help in the library. Some parents have been trained as ‘Better Reading Partners’ and support individual children with reading. Please let us know if you would like to help.
All volunteers should give their details to the office staff who will organise the required police checks.
Leading Parent Partnership Award
The school is currently working towards gaining the LPPA, which is an accreditation designed to strengthen partnership between the school and parents/carers. Central to the award is a commitment to develop effective communication between home and school, to facilitate more effective participation in children’s learning, and to build confidence through participation in lifelong learning opportunities.
The final assessment for this award is due in the summer term. |
