About us

The school library

The school has a new, purpose-built library

Highgate Primary School is a Community school with a nursery class and caters for children between the ages of 3 and 11.

The school currently has around 400 children on roll, including nursery children. It is in the London Borough of Haringey.

The school has benefitted from major building and refurbishment programmes funded by the DfES/DCSF and Haringey Council.

Facilities

Facilities include: computer suite, library, new class rooms, staff workshop, literacy resource room, purpose built kitchen and dining centre.

The outside play and learning spaces have been redeveloped in recent years, with new activity equipment for reception and Key Stage 1, sports equipment for Key Stage 2, and most recently with the addition of a wooden deck linked to the Year 1 classrooms.

The school also has a Children's Centre, providing services to parents and the whole community.

There is now full access for wheelchair users and a lift and stair lift have been installed, together with ramps to access the school and playgrounds.

The school is in partnership with Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children and up to 31 deaf children are on site at Highgate Primary School.

The deaf children are taught by specially trained teachers and also spend some of their time in the mainstream Highgate classes participating in a range of lessons.

Support staff are there to help deaf children during inclusion sessions. All the children use the dining hall and playgrounds together and take part in daily assemblies.
